Updated November 5, 2026 · Offer data last verified 2026-11-05 · Not financial or tax advice.
Chase's current tiered checking offer pays $425, $600 or $900 for opening a new Chase Total Checking account, depending on how much you direct-deposit within 90 days of offer enrollment. Chase's page says the offer expires 01/27/2027. The page opens with "As a valued Chase customer, an up to $900 offer could be yours," so the offer may be shown to some people and not others.

What counts as direct deposit
Chase defines direct deposit as an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. It lists things that don't count: check deposits, person-to-person payments like Zelle, micro-deposits, external transfers from a bank, brokerage or investment account, tax refunds, dividends, retirement distributions, debit card transactions and wire transfers.
Who's eligible
- Not for people who already own or co-own a Chase checking account.
- Not for accounts closed within the last 90 days, or closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years.
- One new checking and one new savings account bonus every two years from the last offer enrollment date.
- The account must not be closed or restricted when the bonus pays.

Chase says new accounts aren't charged the Monthly Service Fee for at least the first two statement periods. After that it applies unless you meet one of the waiver options each statement period. Check the current fee and waivers on Chase's page.
